Social Impact
One Health Student Club
Making One Health communication understandable to a student audience.
- Role
- Public Health Communication
- Summary
- An on-campus awareness rally that explained the link between human, animal and environmental health to more than 2,000 students.
The challenge
What needed to change?
One Health is an idea that people accept instantly once they understand it, and ignore entirely until then. The barrier was explanation, not persuasion.
The context
Who was the organisation trying to reach, and why did the work matter?
A campus audience encountering the concept for the first time, in a physical setting where attention is earned in seconds.
The strategy
What was the thinking?
Take the message to where the audience already is and reduce it to one relationship people can repeat: human, animal and environmental health are connected.
The execution
What was actually done?
- Led a physical awareness rally across campus.
- Built the messaging around a single, repeatable connection rather than a full curriculum.
The results
Documented figures from this engagement.
2,000+
students sensitised about the connection between human, animal and environmental health

What I learned
If an idea needs a paragraph before it makes sense, it will not travel. Find the one sentence people can carry away and repeat.
